Telangana State BJP President N Ramachnder Rao called upon party workers to get themselves ready to launch an agitation against anti-people policies of the Congress government which has totally failed to fulfil promises given to the people.
He said that people of the state have realised and expressed repentance for electing Congress party into power after falling prey to its hollow promises which deceived farmers and students.
The BJP president asserted that now people are looking towards BJP hoping that this party can only provide a “golden and a true democratic” government to meet the aspirations of the poor and downtrodden. He appealed to people to give an opportunity to BJP who have realised their mistakes by voting BRS and Congress.
“ Let us build a Viksit Telangana with double engine sarkar (governments) and ask people to provide a chance to BJP in next elections”, he said. After taking charge as state president, he started his district visits with a two-day tour in Nalgonda and Suryapet districts to rejuvenate and encourage party workers to keep ready to face elections including proposed local body elections in the state.
The BJP President demanded Revanth Reddy government to provide ration cards to each and every eligible poor family in the state as there were reports that the ruling party is trying to give rations cards to only Congress workers.
Raising the issue of 42 per cent BC reservation, Ramachander Rao cautioned that though the BJP is not against reservations, it will not allow 10 percent reservations on religious basis in the name of providing reservations to BC. Stating that religion based reservations would affect and do injustice to the BC community, Rao called upon BCs to get ready for agitation for justice.
Expressing concern that the Nalgonda district, the hotbed of movements that had given birth to many mass movements with its political consciousness, is now under the grip of a `family regime’, Rao said that BJP must come to power to end family rule here. He expressed regret that this district is now being run by brothers from one family.
He said that the Congress party is a slave to the Sonia Gandhi family, and our Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is a slave to that party. He said that Telangana will be the gateway to South India in the coming days and expressed confidence that a BJP government will come here too.
The BJP president made it clear that if Telangana is to develop, the BJP must come to power. Stating that both the BRS and Congress parties have ruled Telangana and the people have seen their rule, he urged the people to give the BJP also one chance now.
Stating that BJP is gradually expanding in Telangana, he reminded that now it has 7 MLAs, 8 MPs and 3 MLCs. He said that in the recent parliamentary elections, BJP’s vote percentage increased the most in Nalgonda district of South Telangana. He said that BJP is strong in the entire Telangana and will become stronger.
