It is learnt that both his gunmen have confessed in the police investigation that they opened fire into air only on the orders of Teenmar Mallanna when the Jagruti activists attacked his office on Sunday. MLC Teenmar Mallanna’s derogatory comments on Kalvakuntla Kavitha on the issue of BC reservations have been creating a stir in Telangana.
Angry over Mallanna’s comments, Telangana Jagruti activists attacked his office, leading to tensions. Mallanna’s gunman opened fire in the air while the Jagruti activists were attacking. In this context, the police focused on the case of Mallanna’s two gunmen. The police department surrendered the two gunmen.
The police recorded the statements of both of them. On the other hand, The police have increased security near Kavitha’s residence as well as the Jagruti office. She has been accusing that on Mallanna’s direction only they opened fire to kill her supporters.
Congress leader Addanki Dayakar, reacting towards these incidents, advised both of them to behave with restraint. He lamented that attacks are not Telangana culture.
Mallanna alleged that Kavitha had an assassination attempt on him and made it clear that he was not going to back down on his comments stating that he had only said the Telangana proverb. He alleged that Kavitha only engineered an attack on his office after he announced the formation of a BCs party. He warned that BCs would not allow Kavitha, who is trying to suppress BCs, to roam the state.
However, MLC Kavitha was furious when Mallanna defended his comments and said that she will not tolerate the Telangana proverb by talking about a girl child and saying it. Kavitha accused Mallanna of speaking bad words without considering her as a woman. She warned that if women of Telangana intended, Mallanna would not be able to roam outside.
Kavitha deplored that the government has not responded to all this and demanded that Mallanna should be arrested immediately. Otherwise, she said it would be clear that the Chief Minister only provoked Mallanna to talk like that against her. Kavitha said that she will also meet the NHRC if the government does not take action against Mallanna.
