Runtime is one of the major deciding factors in the outcome of a film’s verdict. Movies narrated with crisp runtime and taut screenplay will always deserve better reception from moviegoers. Also, there are many instances when the protracted runtime turned out to be an undoing aspect and spoiled the mood of the flow in many big-ticket films.
Against this backdrop, team Adipurush is taking a huge gamble as they locked close to three hours of runtime after the final editing. To be precise, the mythological behemoth will have 174 minutes of runtime. This means director Om Raut should keep the viewers hooked for a relatively longer period than usual to get a positive talk for the film. Keeping audiences invested for more than the traditional 150 minutes is a herculean task and the directors need to be near perfect with their narration to ensure that they leave the screening with a satisfactory feeling.
Adipurush is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. We have already seen umpteen films inspired or centered on this familiar story. It requires a lot of dexterity with a meticulous approach to narrate such an epic story so convincingly yet again. No doubt, the presence of Prabhas is going to be the selling point for Adipurush. But, it all depends on how well Om Raut convinces the moviegoers with his presentation of this epic story.
