TDP, Jana Sena slams BJP for Admitting `corrupt’ Visakha Dairy Chairman Adari Anand

The opposition often accuses BJP as a `Washing Machine’. Leaders with severe corrupt charges are coming out with `clean chit’ after joining BJP all over the country. In Andhra Pradesh also such an exercise of the BJP has been creating rift among its alliance partners TDP and Jana Sena.

Visakha Dairy Chairman Adari Anand Kumar, who is facing severe corruption charges and the AP Assembly has constituted a house committee to probe into those charges was surprisingly admitted by state BJP chief D Purandeswari into the party on Wednesday. He joined BJP along with his sister and Yelamanchili Municipal Chairperson Pilla Rama Kumari.

In the last elections he contested from Visakha West Constituency to the Assembly as YCP candidate, but he was defeated. After the formation of the new government corrupt allegations against him were discussed in the state assembly. The Legislature Committee, headed by Jyothula Nehru recently visited Visakha Dairy and started its probe.

Fearing that the government will act severely against him, he tried to join TDP or Jana Sena to cover up his corrupt practices. But after those two parties refused to admit him, he contacted Purandeswari and succeeded in getting admission into the BJP. Senior TDP leader and Assembly Speaker Ayyannapatrudu openly expressed his displeasure over his inclusion without naming him.

The TDP and Jana Sena leaders in the combined Visakhapatnam district questioned Anakapalle BJP MP CM Ramesh on why they are admitting such `corrupt leader’ into their party. But he expressed his inability to stop it. ‘I don’t know anything. Purandeswari called me a day before his joining. She said that  Adari would come and meet me. I said there was no need to meet me. She told me only after taking a decision to admit him’, he added.

Speaker Ayyannapatrudu expressed extreme impatience over this joining a day earlier. On Tuesday, the matter was raised with CM Chandrababu. If he is included like this, what is the point of the House committee’s investigation into his irregularities?, he asked. The CM also assured, ‘They know the problem too! What should we do? I will speak up.’

The TDP leadership received information a few days ago that Anand was going to join the BJP. There is a rumor that signals were sent to BJP leaders not to rush. However, the BJP leadership admitted him.
