As the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh completes seven months, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu continues to focus on rejuvenating the social and economic base of the state. Currently attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Naidu is putting in tremendous efforts to attract investments and speed up the progress of the state.
Amid this, discussions around the possibility of Nara Lokesh becoming the deputy chief minister have sparked interest. The proposal, initially suggested by Mahasena Rajesh, gained traction with support from senior leaders like SomiReddy Chandramohan Reddy, Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, and SVSN Varma from Pithapuram. Industries Minister TG Bharath further added fuel to the fire, highlighting Lokesh’s potential for higher leadership during a speech at the NRI TDP meet in Davos.
However, both Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janasena have swiftly stepped in to address these speculations. TDP has firmly instructed its leaders and spokespersons to avoid public discussions about future CM or DCM roles. Similarly, Janasena released a directive urging its representatives to refrain from making comments on these topics, whether in interviews or on social media.
Both the parties have reiterated that the main agenda is the reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh. Even the senior leaders like Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan are in the same wavelength by giving up their personal interests for the well-being of the state. Lokesh had already given an indication that he wouldn’t like to accept cabinet portfolios in the next term, paving way for new leadership. Pawan Kalyan has repeated his words still looking forward to supporting Naidu’s leadership for the betterment of Andhra Pradesh.
With the state’s recovery as the main agenda, both parties have dismissed these discussions as unnecessary distractions. Their shared message is clear: rebuilding Andhra Pradesh and ensuring the well-being of its people must remain the top priority.
