Political dynamics are changing drastically in Andhra Pradesh as leaders of importance from the ruling YSRCP are making a shift toward opposition alliances. As multiple influential figures have bid the party adieu, change is happening very rapidly within the political sphere. While so, Jagan Mohan Reddy prepares for a district tour in the third week of January. This follows many developments where rumors have gone around about former Speaker Tammineni Seetharam reportedly joining the party Janasena. It has triggered much interest in this connection. Tammineni himself has come forward to dismiss the speculations.
After the YSRCP’s setback in the recent elections, a number of high-profile leaders—including three Rajya Sabha members, MLCs, and former ministers—have departed from the party. Tammineni Seetharam, a seasoned leader, has been at the center of rumors suggesting that he might be joining Janasena. These rumors were particularly strong in Srikakulam, where it was alleged that he had been in talks with Janasena leaders, possibly for his son’s political future. Tammineni, who has also had a history with the Praja Rajyam Party, was believed to be considering an alliance with Janasena.
However, during a recent meeting with former minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Tammineni addressed the growing rumors and provided clarity. Jagan Mohan Reddy had recently appointed Tammineni as the political observer for Srikakulam, and as part of a restructuring process, Chintada Ravi Kumar has been named the new in-charge for Tammineni’s home constituency of Amudala Valsa. This decision sparked more speculation about Tammineni’s departure from the YSRCP. In response, Tammineni strongly denied any intention to join Janasena, questioning the validity of such rumors. He explained that his absence from party events was due to his son’s surgery, and he had been staying at the hospital for the past 15 days, which led to his lack of participation in party activities.
With these clarifications, Tammineni Seetharam’s political future within YSRCP appears to remain intact, at least for now, despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his next move.
