Former Film Chamber President and veteran filmmaker Tammareddy Bharadwaja held a press conference to discuss recent developments in the Telugu film industry. He elaborated on the recent meeting between film personalities and the Chief Minister, which sought to foster a better relationship between the industry and the government. Tammareddy highlighted the Film Chamber’s role in promoting coordination within the industry and expressed satisfaction with the positive outcomes of the meeting. He also pointed out that past misunderstandings about a rift between the industry and the government were dispelled during the meeting, with attendees calling it productive.
Reflecting on the evolving dynamics of the industry, Tammareddy noted that the success of films like Pushpa 2 on the international stage demonstrated the global impact of Telugu cinema. He acknowledged the changing landscape of film screenings, explaining how past benefit shows, which were once held free of charge, are no longer the norm. He emphasized the importance for both producers and audiences to adapt to these changes and recognized the industry’s growing international reach with films now entertaining viewers across multiple languages.
Tammareddy also addressed the social responsibility of filmmakers and actors, urging them to support government awareness campaigns and contribute to societal welfare. He remarked that creating videos for the public good is not only important during film releases but should be a continuous effort. On the controversial ticket price hike issue, he clarified that the Chief Minister had discussed the matter with industry representatives, and emphasized that there was no need for frequent meetings with the government unless significant issues arose. Tammareddy also commented on the absence of Chiranjeevi’s family members from the recent meeting, speculating that they might have had prior commitments. Concluding on a personal note, he shared his pride in Allu Arjun’s National Award and reaffirmed his belief in offering constructive criticism for the industry’s growth and improvement.
