Popularly known as `Tadepalli Palace’, the residence of former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, from where he practically continued all his political and other activities, mostly avoiding visiting the Secretariat, is now exposed for other reasons.
After Reddy lost power, he declared that YSRCP central office will be located from now onwards. Soon after the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) demolished encroachment structures on the road facing Jagan’s luxurious `Lotus Pond’, the attention of the AP Government is now turning towards `Tadepalli Palace’.
It is revealing that the entire Tadepalli Palace road, the road used by the former CM camp office and presently YSRCP state office, is said to be entirely encroached. Criticisms are pouring in that the double lane road built with public money is converted into a private road.
Moreover, objections were being expressed about the YSRCP using the furniture purchased with government money for the camp office for its own needs. It seems that the new government will conduct an inquiry soon.
Ordinary citizens are not allowed on the double lane road leading to former Chief Minister Jagan’s camp office..! The TDP leaders are alleging that Jagan considers this road as his own estate road and has made it impossible for others to roam freely.
There are allegations that when Jagan was the CM, the houses of the residents were removed and the government gave them compensation and built a road. The banning of local traffic on the road built by the Roads and Buildings Department is causing controversy.
For the past five years, this road has been used only for the Chief Minister’s camp office. No one else is allowed to enter. When Jagan left the post of Chief Minister, the camp office was converted into the YSRCP state office. However, questions arise as to why no one should be allowed into that path?
Actually, from Prakasam barrage to Revendrapadu, Rs 5 crore funds were sanctioned for the double lane road. But with those funds, only one and a half kilometers of road was built within Jagan’s camp office.
Moreover, in the name of safety, crores of public money has been spent for the iron fencing built around the house at a height of about 20 feet. About Rs 3.63 crore have been spent from the exchequer for setting up solar fencing, transformers and UPS systems.
The late Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad was accused of stealing government furniture and YSRCP leaders at that time protested. At that time, Kodela wrote a letter saying that he would give whatever it cost for the furniture, but the YSRCP government did not respond, only harassed him with unspeakable words. Now Jagan’s use of government furniture for his political activities is being criticized.
