Hyderabad: The Election Commission has revoked the suspension of Telangana’s former Police Chief, Anjani Kumar, on Tuesday. This decision was made after Anjani Kumar appealed to the Election Commission. Anjani Kumar was suspended on December 3 for breaking election conduct rules. He had met with Congress candidate A. Revanth Reddy, who is now the Chief Minister, at his home during the vote counting for the state Assembly elections.
The Election Commission also suspended two other police officers, Sanjay Kumar Jain and Mahesh M Bhagwat, who were with Anjani Kumar during the incident. After Anjani Kumar’s suspension, senior IPS officer Ravi Gupta was given the additional responsibility of being the state’s Director General of Police.
