After delivering a blockbuster with his maiden superhero mythological drama Hanu-Man, hotshot filmmaker Prashanth Varma immediately announced its sequel with the title Jai Hanuman, which is a part of his ambitious cinematic universe. Unlike Hanu-Man, Jai Hanuman completely centres on the divine character of lord Hanuman and will also involve other mythological roles like Rama and Sita.
As per reports, Prashanth Varma approached several Tollywood stars to reprise the role of Hanuman. Unfortunately, no actor dared to play such a powerful mythological character. He then turned towards Bollywood and managed to impress Bollywood hunk Sunny Deol. Though Sunny Deol liked the character arc and the story, he didn’t show interest to appear as Hanuman because he already gave nod to play the same mythological role in Bollywood biggie Ramayan starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Ram and Sita respectively.
Disappointed with Deol’s decision, Prashanth Varma then tried to convince any big Tamil actor for this iconic role. He finally zeroed in Kannada superstar and Kantara fame Rishabh Shetty to play the larger-than-life character. He immediately signed the dotted line and bulked up his body to look the part in the role of Hanuman.
The first look poster of Jai Hanuman evoked a stunning response due to Rishabh Shetty’s imposing makeover and sturdy physique. Now, Prashanth Varma is in search for an appropriate actor to fit into the role of Lord Ram.
