Stage set for Jagan’s clarion call ‘Siddham’

YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to blow the clarion call for 2024 elections in Andhra Pradesh from Bheemili constituency of Vishakapatnam today afternoon. As Vizag is tipped to be the administrative capital of the state under the idea of three capitals floated by Jagan in 2019, the party’s high command zeroed in on this part to launch the poll campaign to attract the voters of Uttarandhra region.

The campaign, christened Siddham, which means Ready, is going to kick off with a public rally to be headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy and other prominent leaders of the party. Around 3-4 lakh people from all 34 constituencies of coastal Andhra are expected to be mobilized for this event which marks the beginning of what could be a challenging journey for the ruling dispensation in AP as the opposition parties have already launched a fierce attack from all quarters against the CM and his policies in the last five years.

Jagan will land in Vizag this afternoon at 3 o’clock and straightaway head to Bheemili to address the gathering. This will be followed by a massive public rally. He is most likely to go all out against the opponents as the poll battle intensified with the recent developments including the entry of his sister YS Sharmila into the Congress party. He will appeal to the rank and file of the party to work effectively for the next two months by giving out a clear roadmap.

Jagan has made it a tradition to start all prominent political activities from Vizag because he wants to win the trust of people here as it saw several developmental activities in the last four years.

As Sharmila launched an offensive against Jagan Mohan Reddy both personally and politically, this event gained huge significance as all eyes will be on his speech. So far, he has not directly attacked Sharmila despite her scathing tirade against him in the last few days. So, it would be interesting to see if he opens up fully this time.
