Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram is going to have the biggest release among all Sankranti releases this year. As films like Saindhav, Hanu-Man, and Naa Saami Ranga are also releasing simultaneously, it would be difficult for Guntur Kaaram to retain good number of screens from the second day even if it gets a promising talk.
So, the postponement of Ravi Teja’s ‘Eagle’ will offer some respite to all films, particularly Guntur Kaaram.
As promised by film chamber, Eagle will have a solo release on February 9th. The decision was taken after all producers met yesterday and mutually sorted out the clash issues. This was the date initially locked for Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s much-awaited sequel Tillu Square.
It is reliably heard that Guntur Kaaram producer Naga Vamsi has convinced ‘Eagle’ team to move out of the Sankranti race by assuring that he will postpone Tillu Square from February 9th. Naga Vamsi did this because he is very confident about Guntur Kaaram and wants to take advantage of the festival season.
With Eagle getting postponed, Guntur Kaaram will retain maximum screens in the first week. This smart move would make sure that Guntur Kaaram will pull in strong numbers in all territories.
Coming to Tillu Square, Naga Vamsi feels that any date before Summer is an ideal one as there is adequate craze for the film. So, he didn’t mind sacrificing February 9th to Eagle. It is a smart move.
