Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla’s romantic drama Kushi turned out to be a major hit in the industry. The film, a remake of the Kollywood classic starring Thalapathy Vijay and Jyothika, was helmed by the well-known actor-director SJ Suryah.
At the recent pre-release event for Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Priyanka Mohan, the film’s leading lady, encouraged SJ Suryah, who plays to create a sequel to Kushi with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, arguing that only Kalyan could truly honor the film. Her comments sparked controversy and drew criticism from Vijay’s fans.
In a recent interview while promoting Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, SJ Suryah revealed that he had pitched the Kushi 2 script to Pawan Kalyan some time ago. Despite Pawan’s interest in the story, he declined the project, explaining that he’s not taking on love stories at the moment. SJ Suryah suggested that the script could be a great fit for Thalapathy Vijay, Nani, or Ram Charan. Whether a Kushi sequel will come to fruition remains to be seen, with only SJ Suryah able to confirm.
