SIT Questioning Former YSRCP Dy. Chief Minister Narayana Swamy In Liquor Scam

The SIT is questioning the then Excise Minister and former Deputy Chief Minister Narayana Swamy in the AP liquor scam case during the YSRCP regime. A team of SIT officials has gone to the house of former Minister Narayana Swamy in the liquor case. To this extent, the SIT officials are questioning him at his residence in Puttur, Tirupati district.

A team of six SIT officials is questioning him under the supervision of the SIT Additional SP. It is reported that the officials who will conduct the SIT inquiry into the role of those behind the changes in the excise policy will inquire about the approval of the liquor policy. Meanwhile, the SIT officials believe that Narayana Swamy’s role is also crucial in the liquor case.

Narayana Swamy, who was the Excise Minister during the formation of new liquor policy. The SIT officials are questioning the changes in the liquor policy during the YSRCP regime and are also investigating the removal of the online system in liquor orders and introducing a manual system. 

SIT officials had earlier asked Narayana Swamy to come for questioning. However, in the past, he kept on missing the questioning citing various reasons. The SIT has also interrogated the seven accused who were already arrested in this case several times. 

Along with Raj Kasireddy, former Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy’s closest aides Dhanunjay Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy and Balaji Govindappa are also in Vijayawada jail. SIT officials have already concluded that the entire liquor case revolved around these four.

However, if the SIT also takes former Deputy CM Narayana Swamy into custody, what Narayana Swamy will say during the questioning will become crucial in the case. Meanwhile, it is known that the state government has granted permission to seize more valuable assets and bank accounts belonging to Raj Kasireddy, the main accused in the liquor case.

The state government has already given permission through two GOs to confiscate assets worth Rs. 62 crore belonging to several accused and various organizations, including Raj Kasireddy, in this case.
