An attack on an anchor occurred in Rajahmundry, leading to a police case and investigation. The victim, Kavya Sri, an event anchor, was accompanied by her father to an event. During this time, a man named Nalluru Srinivas assaulted both of them, leaving them injured. Kavya Sri’s father had lent money to Nalluru Srinivas, a resident of Rajahmundry, who had been avoiding repayment despite numerous requests. The incident took place when Kavya Sri and her father were in Konaseema for an event.
Kavya Sri and her father went to meet Nalluru Srinivas to ask for the repayment of the money he owed them . However, their conversation soon turned into a heated argument. In a fit of rage, Srinivas physically assaulted her father, punching him and verbally abusing him. When Kavya Sri tried to intervene, Srinivas attacked her as well, injuring her eye in the process. Following the assault, they filed a formal complaint at the local police station. Kavya Sri expressed her concern, stating that Srinivas attacked her without any hesitation, disregarding the fact that she is a woman.
Kavya Sri reported that despite capturing the incident on video, Srinivas continued to assault her. She alleged that he is connected to a former MP. Kavya voiced her worries about the escalating violence against women since the alliance government assumed power.
