APCC chief YS Sharmila in an open letter to followers of her father YS Rajasekhar Reddy said that her brother and former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy sought a settlement with her on property disputes only with a strong belief that she was responsible for his defeat in recent elections.
However, she said that she was unable to bear the condition of her brother. According to her, she should not speak against Jaganmohan Reddy, his wife Bharati Reddy and Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy.
“I did not feel comfortable with that condition as it was against the `dharma’ of her political profile. No matter how much my relatives pressured me, I did not agree. So, no settlement was made and immediately a case was filed against me and my mother in NCLT”, she added.
Sharmila strongly denied that she is seeking a share in Jaganmohan Reddy’s properties. “It is ridiculous that I am asking for Jaganmohan Reddy’s assets. Since all these are family assets, my father thought that they should be divided equally among the four grandchildren, so we are talking about these till today”, she said.
Personally, she asserted that she is not obsessed with these properties and also has no desire to get these properties for the violence they have done. As it was the wish of Rajasekhar Reddy that only grandchildren should have these properties, she said that even to this day she is searching keeping in view of her children.
Sharmila said that her mother Vijayamma would have asked them a thousand times and hundreds of letters were written. However, none of the property due to her children was given. She made it clear that during the lifetime of Rajasekhar Reddy, not a single transfer of property took place and he died suddenly.
“Even after that no asset transfers took place. Till date, I do not have a single property that could have come failry”, she added. In 2019, Sharmila revealed that soona after her brother became Chief Minister proposed partition of properties.
According to this, she said 40 percent of Sakshi, 40 percent of their 49 percent in Bharathi Cements, 100 percent in Saraswati Power, 100 percent in Yelahanka Property, the house where YSR resides and some other properties were given to her share and an MoU was prepared.
But, Sharmila said they became angry after she entered politics against their wishes in 2021, first in Telangana and later in Andhra. She recalled that when she campaigned on behalf of the Congress party in Andhra, they not only insulted her in all kinds of ways, but they also attacked her personally on social media , without even considering her as a married woman, with children.
