YS Sharmila, the chief of APCC, emphasized to the people of her hometown Pulivendula that the upcoming Kadapa parliamentary elections would serve as a referendum between crime and justice. Speaking at a roadshow in Pulivendula alongside YS Vivekananda Reddy’s wife YS Sowbhagyamma and daughter Dr. Suneetha Narreddy, Sharmila stated that the entire world was eagerly awaiting the Kadapa poll outcome to see whether the people would stand for justice or crime.
Sharmila recalled the decades of service her father, former Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy, and his brother YS Vivekananda Reddy had dedicated to the people of Pulivendula and Kadapa district. She lamented the lack of justice even five years after Viveka’s death, alleging that the state’s chief minister was shielding the accused.
She went on to explain that initially, none were aware of the true perpetrators of the crime, which led them to support YS Avinash Reddy in previous elections. However, with the CBI providing concrete evidence of Avinash Reddy’s involvement, Sharmila criticized the ongoing delay in the investigation due to apparent political motivations.
