Shah Rukh shuts the door for Prabhas

Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan delivered two consecutive blockbusters this year with Pathaan and Jawan. He is now getting ready to end 2023 on a high with his next film Dunki which is gearing up for release in December. The Raj Kumar Hirani directional has completed its shooting formalities and is currently in the post-production phase.

During the success celebrations of Jawan, Shah Rukh officially reiterated that Dunki will arrive in theatres on December 22nd as a Christmas treat to the audience. There were speculations that Dunki might be postponed to next year due to production issues. But, Shah Rukh asserted that he will entertain audiences with Dunki during the Christmas festival.

Shah Rukh’s announcement about Dunki has put the makers of Prabhas’ upcoming marquee film Salaar in a big dilemma because they are in plans to lock an ideal date in December for the film’s release after it was postponed from September 28th. Trade circles and audience believed that Salaar will release in December if no other biggie arrives in that month.

Already, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 has been announced for release on November 10th as a Diwali treat. So, Salaar team considered December 22nd as one of the potential dates for its release.

Now, Shah Rukh has shut the doors for their plans by announcing the release date of Dunki. It seems like they have no other option but to aim for Sankranthi festival.
