The Supreme Court of India has issued notices to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in connection with social media posts made by Congress following the bail granted to K. Kavitha. The notices were prompted by a petition filed by BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy, who accused Congress of undermining the judiciary’s independence.
The court has requested an explanation from Revanth Reddy regarding the posts made by Telangana Congress, which questioned the status of Kavitha’s bail and included statements such as “Friendship with the lotus… Kavitha’s liberation.”
Revanth Reddy has been given a two-week period to respond to the court’s inquiries.
