Sajjala Sridhar Reddy, a key accused in the AP liquor scam case, has reportedly told the SIT officials that he acted only on the orders of Raj Kasireddy, the prime accused in the case, besides some government officials. The SIT officials took him into custody for three days and started questioning him from Thursday.

The SIT officials questioned him from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on the first day of the 3-day investigation. The officials who brought Sridhar Reddy from the district jail in Vijayawada to the SIT office tried to get answers by asking key questions. They questioned him on issues related to the formulation of liquor policy, distillery permits, and sales.

On the other hand, former CMO officials during the previous regime, Dhanunjay Reddy and Krishnamohan Reddy attended the SIT inquiry on the second day. Who is the ultimate beneficiary in the bribery case? The officials inquired from the perspective of how the cash was moved. It is known that they questioned in which sectors the liquor scam cash was invested.

Meanwhile, the accused in the liquor scam case, Sajjala Sridhar Reddy and Dilip, have filed bail petitions in the Vijayawada ACB court. The court conducted a hearing on these and directed the CID to file a counter on the petition of Sajjala Sridhar Reddy on the 20th of this month. Similarly, the court has directed the CID to file a counter on the bail petition of Dilip on the 16th of this month.

Sajjala Sridhar Reddy, the owner of SPY Agro Industries, is listed as A6 in the liquor scam case worth thousands of crores during the Jagan regime. After the YSRCP came to power in 2019, Sridhar Reddy, along with YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy, Vijayasai Reddy, Raj KC Reddy, former MD of Beverages Corporation Vasudeva Reddy and Special Officer Satya Prasad, participated in every meeting organized by the Jagan gang to extort bribes worth Rs. 50 to Rs. 60 crores every month under the guise of a new liquor policy.

In Nandyal, MP Mithun Reddy and J brands were produced on a large scale at the distillery of SPY Agro Industries. During the years that the YSRCP was in power, they were given the highest number of liquor supply orders. Sridhar Reddy also played a major role in giving the idea that bribes could be collected by blocking liquor supply orders.
