Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy Defends ESMA Implementation in Anganwadi Strike

Monday, December 23, 2024

Amaravati: Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, the advisor to the Andhra Pradesh government, justified the implementation of ESMA (Essential Services Maintenance Act) in response to the anganwadi strike. Addressing the media on Saturday, he stated, “Children and pregnant women in anganwadi centers are facing hardship, and it is the government’s duty to safeguard their lives through emergency services. Despite repeated appeals to resume work, they have disregarded government orders, necessitating the use of ESMA on the anganwadi strike.”

Ramakrishna Reddy also alleged that TDP chief Chandrababu played a role in Sharmila’s decision to join the Congress. He emphasized Sharmila’s right to represent herself politically from any location, asserting that it would not cause any harm to the YSRCP. Dismissing the Congress party’s future in Andhra Pradesh, Sajjala remarked that they are indifferent to such a political entity.
