Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government, represented by advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, conducted three rounds of discussions with anganwadi workers to address their concerns. Following the latest talks with anganwadi workers and unions on Friday evening, Sajjala spoke to the media, stating that the government is committed to fulfilling certain demands. Chief Minister Jagan’s administration has already increased anganwadi workers’ salaries and plans further increments in July of the coming year. The government is also actively working on adjusting Travel Allowance (TA) and Dearness Allowance (DA) for these workers.
Sajjala addressed concerns about police misconduct during the strike, emphasizing that there were no such instances. He reassured that pregnant women and infants have been included under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) to prevent any inconvenience during the strike, and alternative arrangements have been made at anganwadi centers to ensure seamless operations. On behalf of the government, Sajjala Ramakrishna urged anganwadi workers to return to their duties, highlighting the positive steps taken by the government to resolve their issues and expressing the government’s commitment to finding solutions.
