RRR is not slowing down anytime soon as Rajamouli’s magnum opus is on a mission to bag awards and accolades. After winning the Golden Globe Award last month and getting nominated for the upcoming Oscars 2023, RRR has now bagged three nominations for the Critics Choice Super Awards in two categories including Best Actor in an Action Movie and Best Action Movie.
Interestingly, apart from competing against each other, the lead pair of the RRR, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR will also compete with the top American actors like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and Nicholas Cage for Best Actor.
Announcing the nominees for the Best Actor in an Action Movie category on their official Twitter page, Critics Choice Awards wrote- ‘Congratulations to the #CriticsChoice Super Awards Nominees for BEST ACTOR IN AN ACTION MOVIE: @NickCageMovie @RRRMovie @TopGunMovie @BulletTrain @tarak9999 @AlwaysRamCharan @TomCruise #SuperAwards winners will be announced on March 16.’
Speaking about the Best Action Movie category, RRR will be competing with The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, The Bullet Train, Top Gun: Maverick, and The Woman King.
For the unversed, RRR directed by Rajamouli received well by the west. Starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles, the epic period action drama was released last year and grossed more than Rs. 1200 crores worldwide making it the third highest Indian grossing film of all time.
