The courtesy meeting of newly appointed Andhra Pradesh unit president of BJP PVN Madhav with IT and Education Minister and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh has created political uproar in Telangana, as in the Indian Map, he presented on this occasion not marking Telangana state.
BRS working president and former minister KT Rama Rao, who observed this has expressed strong objection over absence of Telangana in the Indian Map. He demanded that BJP leaders immediately apologize for removing Telangana from the map of India. He tweeted to this effect on his ex account.
Directing his criticism at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, KTR asked, Is it the official policy of BJP not to recognize the geographical identity of Telangana? KTR asked Narendra Modi several questions in this regard. KTR stated that Telangana has fought countless battles for decades for its cultural identity, for its rightful place in history, for a separate geographical identity and a separate state.
However, he expressed his anger that Modi’s party’s Andhra Pradesh President Madhav used the map of India to question our cultural identity and existence. However, he said that it is outrageous that your party’s Andhra Pradesh President Madhav showed only the united Andhra Pradesh in the map given as a gift.
He said that the act of ignoring the existence of the Telangana state has deeply hurt them. He lamented this is completely inappropriate. “Who are we if our history is removed from the map of India? Is this the official opinion of your party?”, KTR asked Prime Minister Modi.
“Or is this just a mistake, you should immediately clarify, Prime Minister Modi. This not only disrespects the sacrifices of the people of Telangana, the struggles and sacrifices made for the achievement of the state, but also the BJP leaders who ignored our history should apologize”, he added. If it is a mistake, KTR demanded that Modi’s party leadership immediately apologize for mocking the people of Telangana.
