Roja Defends Jagan’s Investment Record, Takes A Dig At Chandrababu And Lokesh’s Davos Visit

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has also been accused on several occasions of poor policies concerning investments, with some citing reverse tendering policy being one of the significant deterrents for businesses. However, ex-MLA and former Cabinet Minister Roja sprang into action to defend Jagan’s track record and said he has done a much better job than Chandrababu Naidu, who was his predecessor.

Jagan’s Success in Securing Investments
Addressing the media after Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh returned from their recent visit to Davos, Roja outlined Jagan’s achievements in driving economic growth. She pointed out that Andhra Pradesh had won investments to the tune of ₹1.25 lakh crore during Jagan’s term as Chief Minister at the Davos Summit. He, therefore, successfully concluded, under his leadership, the Vizag Investors Summit through which some ₹13.5 lakh crore worth of MoUs were signed and proved his dedication towards the welfare of the state economy.

Criticism of Davos Performance
Roja didn’t hold back in criticizing Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh’s efforts in Davos, accusing them of wasting public funds without delivering any meaningful results. “Their trip yielded nothing substantial for Andhra Pradesh. Even the recent project inauguration, attended by Prime Minister Modi and Chandrababu, was originally conceptualized and planned during Jagan’s administration,” she claimed, emphasizing the groundwork laid by the YCP government.

Political Rivalry Over Investments
The YCP has seized the opportunity to draw a sharp contrast between Jagan’s investment accomplishments and what it perceives as the lackluster outcomes of Chandrababu and Lokesh’s efforts. The focus now shifts to the NDA government to ensure the successful implementation of key projects involving major players like Google, TCS, and Cognizant in Amaravati and Vizag. Delivering on these commitments will be essential to counter the YCP’s narrative and reaffirm Andhra Pradesh’s potential for long-term growth.
