Story:

Ram (Nithiin), an orphan with a philanthropic heart, who steals from the rich and gives to the poor using his cunning tricks. Sami (Devadatta Nage), a cold-blooded criminal, on the other hand, has ambitious plans to control the global drug business by growing marijuana in Rudrakonda village.

The story is set in motion with a thrilling twist when Neera Vasudev (Sreeleela), Abhinava Vasudev’s (Sijju) daughter, who is a pharmaceutical mogul in her own right, comes to Rudrakonda on a mission of her own. Ram joins her, and their adventure becomes intertwined with an illicit drug mafia headed by Don David (David Warner). The ups and downs of their intertwined journeys make up the meat of this action entertainer.

Review:

Venky Kudumula’s direction is one of the pluses of the film. The first half is a riot of laughter with sharp dialogues and interesting sequences that promise an interval full of surprises. The second half takes a turn towards emotional scenes, though it falters at times with a drag in pace. Even with some predictable scenes, Venky gets the balance between humor and drama right, making the film a pleasant ride overall.

Nithiin excels in his performance, rendering with ease a gamut of emotions. From acing the fast-paced action sequences to punctuating perfectly in the comedy scenes, he has the audience on tenterhooks throughout. His performance with Sreeleela is a pleasure to watch, and her acting as Neera lends substance to the film. Devadatta Nage impresses as Sami, the menacing villain, though his role was not developed as much as it could have been in the climax.

The rest of the supporting cast, comprising Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, and David Warner, adds to the movie with their performance. The cameo by Warner, in particular, adds a delightful surprise element that lingers. But the script falters in places, particularly in the second half, where some characters are wasted, and the climax is rushed.

The humor, emotional center, and action in the film are noteworthy but are somewhat brought down by elements such as the unnecessary addition of a couple of songs and poor VFX in important scenes. Nevertheless, Robin Hood maintains its viewers’ interest with its mix of entertainment and narration.

Overall, Robin Hood is an entertaining movie with a nice blend of laughter, excitement, and warm moments. With Venky Kudumula’s signature humor and Nithiin’s impressive performance, the movie is an excellent weekend watch with a lot of entertainment value to pack. If you like a combination of comedy, action, and drama, this movie is definitely worth watching.
