Eccentric director Ram Gopal Varma’s name is quite synonymous with controversies. He often makes startling comments about various issues and draws attention. Also, he has cultivated a habit of making films on controversial personalities and happenings just to remain in the limelight.
Of late, he has been making movies based on politics and politicians. Ever since the YSRCP government came to power in Andhra Pradesh, RGV aggressively dished out a spate of satirical political films like Lakshmi’s NTR, Powerstar, Amma Rajyam lo Kadapa Biddalu and Konda. Though these films didn’t receive any patronage at the box office, RGV never shied away from ridiculing CBN and Powerstar and continued to make films on them.
Up next, he is coming up with another similar film titled Vyooham. This film is aimed to give mileage to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party ahead of the next assembly elections. It is being made in two parts. The second part is titled Shapadam.
Meanwhile, RGV vowed to stop making political films hereafter. He stated that Shapadam is his last film in the political genre. When the media personnel reminded him that he never stood by his promises, RGV said he would abide by his statement this time.
Vyooham is slated for release on November 10th. Shapadam will hit the screens in February next year.
