Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has launched a sharp attack on the BRS, alleging that the party conspired to strip Telangana movement leader Kodandaram of his MLC post. He claimed that the BRS even hired senior lawyers in Delhi to ensure his disqualification.
Speaking at Osmania University during a development review, Revanth strongly defended Kodandaram and assured that he would be reinstated as an MLC within the next 15 days through the Governor’s quota. He pointed out that Kodandaram’s name had already been recommended twice earlier—once blocked before the oath ceremony and later cancelled after the swearing-in. He further added that if the recommendation goes through again, the Supreme Court’s stance will become crucial.
The Chief Minister’s statement has drawn the attention of Telangana activists, many of whom believe Kodandaram has been repeatedly insulted. Revanth’s announcement is now being seen as a message of reassurance and respect for the veteran leader.
In a symbolic move, breaking a long-standing political sentiment, Revanth Reddy made a rare visit to Osmania University. He promised to return again in December to directly interact with students without police presence and even pledged to issue government orders on the spot based on their demands.
Highlighting his government’s commitment to education, Revanth announced a massive allocation of ₹1,000 crore for the development of Osmania University.
