The Revanth Reddy government is working towards an internet revolution in the villages of the state. It has decided to provide internet connection to every household for Rs. 300, in phases. This is like a WiFi connection. By taking this connection, rural people can watch a virtual network as well as telephone and various Telugu OTTs.
As part of the first phase, it is being implemented in 2,096 panchayats in Peddapalli, Narayanpet and Sangareddy districts. CM Revanth Reddy will launch T-Fiber trial services in Maddur, Sangupet, and Adiv Srirampur villages in the first phase as part of the Proof of Concept (PoC) on Sunday.
Later, arrangements will be completed in the remaining villages. The central government has launched a scheme named Bharat Net with the aim of providing internet facilities to all the villages of the country.
As part of this, Rs. 2,500 crore has been allocated to Telangana. Under this scheme, the state government has decided to provide fiber net connection to every household in the villages to provide internet facility. The responsibility of setting up this system has been entrusted to T Fiber.
It has been decided to provide internet connection to every household for Rs. 300. This has not been officially announced yet. If you take this connection, you can use the TV as a computer. Connection will be provided at a speed of 20 Mbps. Payments can also be made through this connection.
It was said that this connection will also be provided to all offices and schools in the village. Since the TV will be turned into a computer, there is a possibility of it being very useful for students. Officials said that the CM will speak directly to those who take this connection from Hyderabad.
In every village, junctions and other places are going to be connected to the fiber net with state-of-the-art CCTV cameras. These will be connected to the command control center in every police station.
T-Fiber’s MD Venu Prasad said that the goal of T-Fiber is to provide high-speed broadband connection and digital services to every household, government and private institutions in the state. He said that the system is being monitored from the T-Fiber Network Operations Center (T-NOC).
He said that work has been done to provide commercial services to 94 mandals and 2,096 village panchayats. He said that plans have been made to connect 30,000 government institutions in the first phase of this project.
