Chief Minister Revanth Reddy admitted that all the promises made by the Congress during the elections were not being implemented. He also indirectly admitted that payments for several schemes were not being made properly. At the same time, he accused the BRS party and the then government of being the reason for this.
Thus, he tried to blame the current government’s failure on the opposition. Indirectly referring to questions from various sections that had promised to fulfill poll promises within 100 days of coming to power, but failed even after one year, he said in the state assembly it was due to debts incurred by the previous BRS regime.
Speaking during the discussion on Rythu Bharosa in the Legislative Assembly on Saturday, the CM said that they are unable to provide Rythu Bharosa to farmers, help tenant farmers, give money to women, reimburse fees on time, pay hostel bills, and give gold to Kalyanalakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak.
He said that the income coming to the state is sufficient to pay the debts incurred in the past. “If I had Rs. 1.27 lakh crore, I would create miracles. I would give farmers remunerative prices for all crops. I would pay fee reimbursement without a single rupee in arrears and not only pay bills to hospitals. I would give monthly advances. If any of the six guarantees is delayed, it is the fault of these sinners,” he said.
He said that they had incurred a debt of Rs. 1.27 lakh crore in a year. “You are not the reason for the state’s financial situation to be in this dire state. We are having to bear the sins you committed during the last ten years of rule. If you make the state a pile of debts and hand them over to us, we will have to borrow again to pay the interest on the debts you have incurred”, he blamed the BRS.
Revanth Reddy said that they are not able to effectively implement some of the six guarantees due to the collection of the debts incurred. So, he added that they are not able to provide other welfare programs to the people at the expected level.
Revanth Reddy expressed his deep anger over the ten-year rule of the last BRS, saying, “Should you give farmer assurance without accounting documents for the lands where landlords, layouts, and residences are located in the name of Rythu Bandhu? What do you want to say about farmer assurance?”
