After the formation of a new government in AP, the future of volunteers, who resigned due to pressures from YCP MLAs during elections, is hanging in a dilemma. After the Election Commission directed the government that volunteers should not be used in election related works and also should not be involved in cash distribution works towards welfare schemes, YCP leaders forced a large number of them to resign as a protest.
Giving assurance that YCP is going to win in the polls and their jobs will be restored soon after results, by force they allegedly get their resignations. But, with the formation of TDP-led alliance government and assurance of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to improve their jobs conditions, including enhancement of salaries, they felt they were cheated.
Moreover, Chandrababu created a separate ministry for them.
are left in confusion. Now due to stalemate on their future, resigned volunteers are expressing their anger towards former YCP MLAs and making police complaints against them stating they cheated them and got their resignations by force.
As many as 1.08 lakh volunteers resigned from their posts before the election. Many of them campaigned for YCP and YS Jaganmohan Reddy. But as expected, YCP was badly defeated in the election. TDP alliance came to power.
The volunteers filed a complaint against the YCP leaders in Nellore to the police. On Saturday night at Chinnabazar police station of Nellore district, some volunteers lodged a complaint against the local corporator and YCP leaders. A complaint was filed at Vedayapalem police station also alleging they were forced to resign before elections.
At several places such volunteers are meeting newly elected local TDP, Jana Sena and BJP MLAs and pleading with them to save their jobs. The YCP government has appointed a total of 1. 25 lakh volunteers in the state and organized various social pensions distribution with them and provided honorarium to them.
Now Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has to review and take a decision on such volunteers. Meanwhile, the government is also proposing to re-orient their job profile.
