Actor Rana Daggubati addressed the topic of nepotism in the film industry during an interview as part of the promotional activities for the upcoming web series Rana Naidu 2. He stated that coming from a film family offers certain advantages, including easier access to industry knowledge and quicker opportunities. However, Rana stressed that ultimately, an actor’s success depends on their talent and performance, regardless of their background.
Elaborating on his personal experience, Rana said, “Being part of a family involved in films allows for a deeper understanding of the industry. My mother worked in a film laboratory, my father runs a studio, and my uncle is an actor. This exposure has given me insight into various facets of filmmaking. Yet, at the end of the day, whether you have a film background or not, you have to deliver on screen, and your career is shaped by your work.”
The original Rana Naidu starring Venkatesh and Rana was released on Netflix in 2023 to favorable reviews. Its sequel, Rana Naidu 2, is scheduled to premiere on June 13 across multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The new season features notable actors such as Arjun Rampal, Surveen Chawla, Kruthi Karbandha, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Dino Morea in pivotal roles, promising an enhanced viewing experience for audiences.
