While, former TTD chief priest Ramana Dikshithulu said that the sin of adulterated ghee using for Tirumala Laddu prasadam going on for the last five years, YCP leader and former TTD trust board chairman approaching the AP High Court seeking a CBI probe into this issue.
Political parties and various mass organizations are alleging that the then TTD EDO Dharma Reddy gave the ghee supply contract to an unqualified company just for commissions.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded an impartial probe into the Tirupati Laddu prasadam matter and said the Hindus are deeply distressed and hurt over the reports that animal fat was used in its preparation during the previous regime.
Ramana Dikshithulu said that he had brought the issue of adulterated quality of prasadams in Tirumala to the attention of the TTD Chairman and Executive Officer several times in the past. But he deplored that there was no response from them. He expressed his displeasure to adulterate the sacred cow’s ghee and use it in Srivari Prasadam.
Moreover, he expressed concern that none of the fellow priests also came forward on this issue due to personal reasons. But, he deplored that this great sin has happened for the last five years without objection.
Ramana Dixitulu revealed that he has seen the lab reports related to the ghee tests. He said that fatty substances are not allowed to mix in ghee made from clean cow’s milk. He reminded that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had said that Tirumala would be cleansed.
He appreciated that the Chief Minister has taken many steps for this. Raman Dikshitul said that it is a good thing that the government has decided to use ghee from Nandini Dairy in Karnataka.
Meanwhile, YV Subbareddy filed a lunch motion petition in the High Court. Advocate Sudhakar Reddy on behalf of Subba Reddy mentioned this matter before the Chief Justice of the High Court.
He pleaded to examine Chief Minister Chandrababu’s comments on animal fat mixture in ghee used for Srivari prasadam, by the sitting judge or the High Court committee. In the petition, they asked for an investigation with the CBI.. to find out the truth. The court has clarified that it will hear the petition next Wednesday.
