Ram Pothineni, a renowned crowd-pleaser, hasn’t quite hit the mark with his last two films. However, he’s set to make a strong comeback with “Double Ismart,” a full-on mass entertainer directed by the esteemed Puri Jagannadh. Kavya Thapar stars as the female lead in this high-energy film.
The promotional push for “Double Ismart” has begun with a series of interviews, including a special segment with Kavya Thapar and Getup Srinu. During the discussion, Ram Pothineni revealed that he shed 18 kilos for the film. He stated, “I was excited when I learned about the climax. After achieving a toned physique in ‘iSmart Shankar,’ I wanted to keep that same look for ‘Double Ismart.’”
Ram Pothineni explained, “The climax shoot was set for November 2023, right after ‘Skanda’ was released in September 2023. I had limited time to shed the weight. We couldn’t delay the shoot because rescheduling with Sanjay Dutt Garu was difficult. I went to Bali and took a month-long break from my phone, managing to lose 18 kilos and go from 86 to 68 kilos.
