Tollywood’s maverick director Puri Jagannadh is currently occupied with the pre-production phase of his next film with Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi. Ahead of the film officially beginning production, Puri met the veteran screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad.
It is well known that SS Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, is an admirer of Puri’s work and even called him his favorite filmmaker. He also once revealed that he keeps Puri’s photo as his phone wallpaper. Despite a series of flops, including Liger and Double Ismart, earlier Puri shared that Vijayendra Prasad had once called him after Liger’s failure to encourage him and offer guidance. Though he did not choose to narrate Double Ismart’s story at the time due to his confidence in the film, this recent meeting between the two has sparked anticipation among fans.
The two recently met in person ahead of Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Sethupathi’s project going on to the floors. Puri shared their picture on social media, along with a heartfelt caption, “Some moments stay etched in your heart forever… Spending time with the legendary Vijayendra Prasad Garu was one of those. His humility, wisdom, and clarity of thought were truly inspiring.” In another photo, Charmmee Kaur also joined them.
Speaking more of the untitled project, the film also stars veteran actress Tabu and also Kannada actor Duniya Vijaykumar in pivotal roles. Produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmmee Kaur under their banner Puri Connects, the film will soon begin filming in June. Additional details of the other cast and crew will be revealed soon.
