The camaraderie between the YSRCP Chief Jagan and MP Vijaya Sai Reddy is well known in the AP Political circles and voters right from the time the YSR’s son floated his own party. However, the latest developments within the party depict a widening gap between these two.
Vijaya Sai Reddy used to enjoy the number two position in the party for ages and he always supported his boss Jagan through thick and thin including the jail term. Things have seen a difference these days where Sai Reddy changed his approach to Politics and stopped using foul language which was not so typical of YSRCP leaders. In parallel, the growth of AP Govt’s Chief Advisor Sajjala also played its own part in decreasing the value of Sai Reddy in the party. At this juncture, the demise of Nandamuri Taraka Ratna has made Vijaya Sai Reddy a true family man rather than a YSRCP member as the latter had personally taken care of all the last rites and stood by the deceased family which made the YSRCP supporters angry.
As this is not enough, Sai Reddy was seen sharing emotion with his arch-rival Chandrababu Naidu and the visuals completely wrecked the fuses of YSRCP hardcore fans including the leaders. These all should have changed the brain of Jagan who is already observing the change in his old friend. YSRCP which tried to narrate that Taraka Ratna was dead on the starting day of Lokesh’s Padha Yatra was refuted by Vijaya Sai Reddy’s acts. Thus, the gap even though it was not official can be clearly seen by any political observer.
