Prosecution JD Rajendra Prasad told the Vijayawada ACB court that Dhanunjaya Reddy and Krishna Mohan Reddy played a key role in the liquor scam. He said that their role is still being investigated. To this extent, the JD argued that the bail petitions should be rejected.

Former IAS officers Dhanunjaya Reddy and Krishnamohan Reddy argued in the court on the bail petitions. He explained to the court that Dhanunjaya Reddy, who was the CMO during the previous government, played a major role in the liquor policy and the scam. He said that Krishnamohan Reddy was also active in the conspiracy.

He said that there is clear evidence against their roles. He said that the investigation of the case is not yet complete. JD Rajendra Prasad argued that granting bail to the accused at this stage would affect the investigation.

Former AG Sriram, the lawyer for the petitioners, told the court that the accused have been in remand for two and a half months and they are people with status in the society. He said that they would cooperate with the investigation if granted bail, moreover they are not currently holding any positions. After the arguments of both sides were over, Magistrate Bhaskar Rao adjourned the case to the 12th of this month for the final verdict.

Similarly, the ACB court rejected the petition filed by YSRCP leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, an accused in the liquor case, to seek permission to undergo physiotherapy at SWIMS in Tirupati. The court said that in case of need for physiotherapy, he can undergo treatment at a hospital with adequate facilities in Vijayawada.

On the other hand, the court, which heard another petition filed by Chevireddy seeking permission to bring food from home, issued orders allowing him to bring food from home for three days a week. The case was adjourned to the 11th of this month, directing A-1 Raj Kasireddy to file a counter on the bail petition.

On the other hand, Raj Kasireddy’s petition seeking an order to preserve two weeks of CCTV footage from the farmhouse and Vardhman College where Rs 11 crore cash was seized in Hyderabad was returned by Magistrate Bhaskara Rao on technical grounds.

Meanwhile, Raj Kasireddy, who is suffering from a viral infection, was taken to a government hospital on Wednesday morning. A scan conducted by the doctors there revealed that he had five kidney stones. Several tests were conducted. He was given medicines to reduce the fever. He will be tested again. Later, he was brought back to jail.
