Review :
“Prasanna Vadanam,” directed by Arjun YK, delves into the intricate realms of prosopagnosia and phonagnosia, offering a fresh perspective on storytelling in Telugu cinema. These conditions are skillfully woven into the narrative, intensifying the psychological depth and sustaining a gripping atmosphere of suspense. Through Arjun YK’s direction, renowned for its meticulous attention to detail, the film promises to captivate audiences and keep them on the edge of their seats until the very end.
Suhas continues to shine in roles that push the boundaries of his acting prowess. As Surya, he captures the essence of the character’s struggles and the suspense surrounding his circumstances with remarkable depth. Rashi Singh delivers a powerful performance as ACP Vaidehi, perfectly complementing the film’s intense and mysterious tone. Payal Radhakrishnan, Viva Harsha, Nandu, and Nithin Prasanna also contribute convincingly, enriching the narrative with their portrayals and ensuring the characters’ interrelations remain integral to the plot.
The music score by Vijay Bulganin adeptly enhances the film’s suspense and emotional depth, while S Chandrasekhar’s cinematography delivers visually stunning scenes that capture the essence of the thriller genre.
The film’s strength lies in its unique plot, though it could have been further enhanced by a tighter edit to improve its pacing, especially in the initial segments of the second half. Despite these slight pacing concerns, the film offers a fresh and captivating experience, filled with ample twists and emotional depth, catering to cinema aficionados seeking something beyond the conventional.
Overall, “Prasanna Vadanam” provides an average thriller experience, with Suhas delivering a solid performance and Rashi Singh standing out in her negative role. While some twists and pacing problems and superfluous scenes may dampen its appeal for some viewers.
