Just when Andhra Pradesh politics would seem to have taken a dramatic turn for the worse, this unexpected twist comes along: actor and former Film Development Corporation Chairman Posani Krishna Murali has announced his retirement from active politics. This now happens when the current coalition administration is just finishing with gelling those opposition leaders and social media activists in legal challenges.
At a media meeting in Hyderabad, Posani confirmed that he is distancing himself from political affairs. He clarified that he has no affiliation with any political party, including the YSRCP, and goes on to vow that he will not comment or criticize any political party in the future.
Posani says his retirement from politics was a personal one, where he wanted to focus more time on his family and kids. Even though he mentioned that he always supported the leaders who worked for the betterment of society, the turn has marked a new chapter in his life. This was at a time when several legal cases had already been filed against him in the state, giving him even more pressure to retire from politics.
