Popular playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar was found unconscious at her residence in Nizampet in Hyderabad after allegedly consuming sleeping pills in a suspected suicide attempt. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
Kalpana Raghavendar lives in a gated community in Nizampet, Hyderabad. According to the reports, she hasn’t come out for the last two days. The concerned neighbors tried to contact her on the phone, but she didn’t respond. They tried to contact Kalpana’s husband, and Kalpana didn’t even respond to her husband’s calls.
Suspected community members and her husband alerted the police. Upon their arrival, police found out the main door was locked from the inside, and later they entered the house by breaking in from the kitchen door. All lights were turned off in Kalpana’s house when the police entered the house. She was seen lying on her bed unconscious in a darkened room.
Kalpana was rushed to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment on a ventilator. Medical sources state that her condition is presently stable.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation and are searching her house. It is reported that police are expressing suspicion of her husband as the singer stayed at home alone without her husband. Police are checking her phones and gadgets.
Soon after hearing this tragic incident, many noted singers, including Sunitha and Sri Krishna, visited Holistic Hospital in Nizampet, where Kalpana has been admitted. The reason behind her suicide attempt is not yet known.
