Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday began a historic visit to Andhra Pradesh, marking a new chapter in the development trajectory of the state. It was his first major visit to the state since taking office for the third term. Though he had attended Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s swearing-in ceremony in June, it is for pursuing major development initiatives, forging closer bonds, and reiterating the cooperation between the Centre and State.
The visit assumes importance mainly because of the role Andhra Pradesh plays in supporting the NDA in receiving an emphatic electoral victory. PM Modi, during his visit, laid down developmental projects whose value stands at a whopping ₹2.08 lakh crore. 1. Green Hydrogen Hub in Visakhapatnam
PM Modi inaugurated the ambitious Green Hydrogen Hub project in Visakhapatnam, which will have an investment of ₹1.85 lakh crore. This cutting-edge initiative is going to transform Andhra Pradesh into a leader in renewable energy and also contribute significantly to India’s green technology efforts.
2. South Coast Railway Zone
To this end, PM Modi has inaugurated the South Coast Railway Zone in Visakhapatnam, which is a long-awaited project that will highly develop connectivity to and from the region.
