In a recent session of the Telangana Assembly, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on actor Allu Arjun, which has since elicited reactions of all kinds, including one from Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. As for what the Chief Minister had said, Pawan Kalyan has reportedly reacted saying that the Telugu film industry should move to Andhra Pradesh-a proposition that has garnered much attention.
Pawan Kalyan said this while visiting the tribal regions of Anantagiri Mandal in Alluri Sitarama Raju district. While admiring the scenic beauty of the area, he highlighted that Andhra Pradesh is home to many picturesque locations perfect for film shoots. He assured the film industry that the state government would offer full support, creating both filming opportunities and local employment.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated his displeasure with the actions of the film industry, especially in the light of recent incidents. He said that no film would be allowed to have a benefit show or raise ticket prices under his leadership in Telangana. In a pointed comment, he sarcastically questioned whether Allu Arjun had physical ailments, such as issues with his legs, arms, eyes, or kidneys, suggesting that such behavior could lead to the industry’s departure from the state.
The controversy revolves around the Sandhya Theatre tragedy, wherein a woman named Revathi lost her life, and her son, Sritej, was seriously injured. The medical reports are that Sritej is conscious but fails to recognize any one person. No delegates from the film industry came to visit the hospital as a response to the accident, thereby increasing the annoyance of Revanth Reddy.
Earlier, Akbaruddin Owaisi sought clarification on the incidents that took place at Sandhya Theatre, to which Revanth Reddy responded to the issue in the Assembly. Further, Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy stated that no film in Telangana would be allowed to hike its ticket prices from now on.
