Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan ordered that a compulsory pollution audit should be conducted on the pollution emitted in various industries across the state. He directed the authorities to give a comprehensive report on how much pollution is released from which industries in the state.
He made it clear that the pollution of Krishna and Godavari river waters will be specially reviewed. On the other hand, he issued instructions to bring back the red sandalwood found in Nepal illegally smuggled from our state. The minister clarified that 172 metric tons of red sandalwood was found in Nepal. He said that the task force will be strengthened to stop smuggling of red sandalwood.
Meanwhile, 154 women housekeeping staff working in the state legislature took their problems to the attention of the deputy chief minister. They said that they have been working here for the last eight years and that they are farm laborers of the Amaravati area.
Pawan Kalyan, who came to the assembly early in the morning during the election of the speaker on the second day of the legislative session, inspected the entire assembly premises. He mingled with the staff and security there and became friendly with them. He inquired about their well-being. He greeted everyone warmly and inspected the Legislative Assembly.
They told him that they joined the job for Rs.6000 some 8 years ago and now being paid Rs.10,000. They are under the outsourcing agency. They pleaded that their problems should be resolved and that they should be recognized as municipal employees by providing job security.
Pawan Kalyan responded positively after hearing the issue of housekeeping employees. He promised to take up the matter to the attention of the Chief Minister and do justice accordingly.
