In light of the Tirumala laddu adulteration incident, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan undertook a penance ritual, as previously reported. As part of this ritual, he conducted a purification ceremony at the Indrakeeladri Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada today, accompanied by Vedic scholars chanting hymns.
Pawan Kalyan first cleaned the temple steps with water and then applied turmeric and kumkum to them. The event saw the participation of MPs Balashowry, Kesineni Srinivas (Chinni), MLC Hariprasad, and others.
Pawan Kalyan is set to conclude his penance on October 1 in Tirumala. He will walk from Alipiri to Tirumala and, after visiting Lord Venkateswara on October 2, he will officially end his penance.
