Keeping in mind national security, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has cautioned all districts in the state to be vigilant against terrorist movements and traces of their sympathizers. He has written letters to the Chief Secretary and DGP to this effect. He said that after Operation Sindoor, they should be vigilant at all times.
He mentioned in the letter that a young man was arrested after being caught plotting to carry out blasts in Vizianagaram. He also directed the authorities to be vigilant against the movements of terrorist sympathizers, sleeper cells, illegal immigrants and Rohingyas and to take strict action if any traces of terrorism are found anywhere.
Pawan said that the state has a long coastline and special attention should be paid to coastal surveillance and protection. He made it clear that there should be no indifference anywhere in taking appropriate precautions for the internal security of the country with the Pahalgam terrorist attacks and the subsequent developments.
He said that special attention should be paid to Northern Andhra, Godavari and Manyam districts. He suggested that full vigilance is needed against those who have participated in any terrorist activities in the past and strict measures should be taken to identify the presence of sleeper cells and terrorist sympathizers.
Pawan Kalyan said that a report should be submitted to the government from time to time on the steps to be taken immediately by keeping an eye on suspicious activities. He expressed concern over the presence of ration, Aadhaar and voter cards in some of the districts including Guntur.
Stressing the need for a comprehensive investigation into the presence of Rohingyas, the Deputy Chief Minister said that a thorough investigation should be conducted into how the suspects obtained documents like Aadhaar card, ration card and voter ID from government departments, who gave them shelter, and the people and organizations cooperating with them and a thorough investigation should be conducted.
He mentioned the fact that the NIA had conducted raids in Guntur and Rayalaseema areas in the past and arrested the suspects. He said that the security and defense of the country are of utmost priority and that the police machinery should pay special attention to law and order as well as internal security and cooperate with the Center. Pawan Kalyan recalled that he had mentioned the country’s internal security when he went to inspect the issue of illegal trafficking of ration rice in Kakinada in November last year.
