Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan’s latest blockbuster Pathaan has been rewriting several box office records ever since its release last month. Despite completing four weeks of release and also withstanding competition from new releases in all languages, the Siddharth Anand directional has breached the biggest milestone in its impressive and record-breaking box office journey so far.
As per trade estimates, Pathaan has grossed more than 1000 Crores by the end of 27 days at the global box office. With this herculean feat, Pathaan became only the fifth film in the history of Indian cinema after Baahubali 2, Dangal, RRR and KGF 2 to enter the elite club. Also, Pathaan became the fastest Bollywood film to achieve this rare milestone. Pathaan is eyeing to smash some more notable records in the coming days as new Bollywood releases failed to make an impact at the box office. Trade experts predict that the Shah Rukh Khan starrer is likely to beat Baahubali 2 in North India and some more foreign territories. The Hindi version alone netted close to 500 Crores. It is at a touching distance with Baahubali 2 which collected 510 Crores net in North India.
Going into the numbers in detail, Pathaan punched out 620 Crores gross from all languages in India with the Hindi version alone contributing more than 600 Crores. The Telugu and Tamil versions accounted for only just over 20 Crores. The film amassed close to $ 46 Million from territories outside India which translates to 380 Crores approximately. In territories like North America ( $ 16.5 Million) and the Middle East ( $ 13.5), Pathaan has had a dream and outstanding run wherein it came closer to Baahubali 2. Surprisingly, in New Zealand and Australia, Pathaan emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time by emphatically surpassing the lifetime collections of Baahubali 2.
Shah Rukh Khan’s mesmerizing screen presence coupled with scintillating action episodes and lavish production values helped the film to a great extent to storm the global box office. Pathaan has ended the box office drought for Bollywood and came as a big confidence booster for trade circles all over North India after a long period of rough patch due to a string of flops.
