Veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal recently shared an unexpected aspect of his recovery journey from a past injury. In an interview with India Today’s affiliate channel, Lallantop, Rawal revealed that he consumed his own urine for 15 consecutive days in an effort to accelerate his healing process.
Rawal recalled that after sustaining an injury, he was admitted to Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital in Mumbai. During his treatment, he was visited by renowned action director Veeru Devgan, father of actor Ajay Devgn. According to Rawal, Veeru Devgan advised him to consume his first urine every morning to promote faster recovery. Devgan also recommended abstaining from alcohol, red meat, and smoking during the period of recuperation.
Determined to follow the advice, Rawal said he approached the process with seriousness. “Instead of drinking it all at once, I decided to sip it slowly, similar to drinking beer, because I wanted to do it properly,” he explained. He continued this practice consistently for 15 days.
Following this period, Rawal stated that his doctors were astonished by his rapid healing. “The doctors were surprised and asked how the bone cementing had occurred so quickly,” he said. An X-ray revealed a visible white line indicating accelerated bone recovery. Although he was initially expected to remain hospitalized for two to two-and-a-half months, Rawal was discharged in just one and a half months, which he described as a remarkable outcome.
In terms of his professional career, Paresh Rawal was last seen portraying the character Tarini Bandopadhyay in The Storyteller. He is currently involved in several upcoming projects, including Bhoot Bangla, Thaama, and Hera Pheri 3. Rawal is also a familiar face to Telugu audiences, notably for his role in the Chiranjeevi-starrer Shankar Dada MBBS.
