Palnadu SP Mallika Garg deplored that the district has been defamed as the worst one in the whole country after poll- related violence and asserted that she wants to show what the khaki uniform means.
Mallika Garg, who was posted after the violent incidents on the polling day, held a march in Vinukonda town with hundreds of policemen and central forces to create confidence among common people.
She asserted that the clashes that happened during the polling will not be allowed to happen again. She wondered that despite the presence of a large number of police, such incidents took place here. She said for whatever reasons terrible incidents took place here.
She deplored that now the name of Palnadu has been tarnished and spread all over the country that the people here roam on the roads holding sticks and iron fences. She warned such elements to leave this place.
Malika Garg expressed her grief that the entire country was shocked by the clashes that took place in Macherla and Narasaraopet. She said that the entire country is watching what is happening here with the clashes in Palnadu district and her batchmates, family members and friends are asking about the Palnadu faction.
Stating that during the last 10 days she has registered 160 cases here, she said that no police officer wants to register such a large number of cases. She reminded that the hugest number of cases registered next to Palnadu are 70 cases.
She said that till now 1300 people have been arrested in cases of clashes and rowdy sheets have been opened against 400 people. As there are not enough jails to house the accused in the Palnadu riots, she said that they are sending them to Rajamahendravaram Central Jail.
Garg expressed concern that only common people are going to jails in such clashes and paying a penalty, while leaders are roaming outside after getting bail with money and intelligence. She advised people not to spoil their lives by involving in such incidents, as they will be ultimate victims.
She warned that on the day of counting if anyone shows their tail, they will have to pay a heavy price and they will see what the uniform power is.
Meanwhile, Macherla YCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, who is on interim bail from the High Court, approached the court again to remove both Guntur Range IG Sarva Shreshta Tripathi and SP Mallika Garg from election duties.
