Already a month has passed with the formation of a new government in Andhra Pradesh. It may not be proper to assess the performance of ministers within such a short time, but only four ministers are seen in full action-mood. Have been creating some impact among people. But, most of the ministers are hardly seen performing their duties.
Even TDP circles seems to be worried that most of their ministers are unable to make an impact by improving the image of the government or attempting to reach expectations of the people. Only Nadendla Manohar, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Nara Lokesh and Anitha Vangalapudi are seen proactive and reaching out to people in their ministerial activities.
Among all ministers, Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar is mostly seen in a pro-active mood and able to show some impact of his ministry among people. As soon as he took charge of this department, he went into the field and conducted inspections, and he is aggressively dealing with many matters.
At the same time, arrangements have been made to provide pulses and rice at subsidized prices through the civil supplies department in farmers’ markets for the benefit of the people. Special focus was also given on the irregularities that happened in the previous YCP government.
After Nadendla Manohar, Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu is second among the ministers who are in full action mode. Along with his departmental matters, he has also been giving a counter to the opposition YCP’s criticism from time to time.
He is also exposing how the YCP regime has completely neglected irrigation projects in the state in the last five years. It is clear that he is trying to gain full control over the affairs of his department with field visits.
Next in the list is IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh. Ever since Nara Lokesh took charge as a minister, he has been trying to be among the people by holding public darbars. Apart from this, he is responding from time to time based on the information he receives through social media.
But Nara Lokesh seems to be in action mode by responding to Praja Darbar and other public relations issues rather than his departmental issues. In this regard, as the chief minister’s son and also as the general secretary of TDP, Lokesh does not have the flexibility that other ministers have.
Nara Lokesh is followed by Home Minister Anitha Vangalapudi in this list. While her acquisition of the all-important home department was a sensation, even after assuming the responsibilities, she is being aggressive. Apart from her departmental matters, she is not hesitating in attacking her political opponents.
Jana Sena chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is mostly spending time with official reviews, he is hardly seen in the field with regard to his ministry activities. It seems he is more focused on getting acquainted with governance matters.
