SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR not only smashed numerous box office across the globe but also ensured the popularity of both its lead actors, Ram Charan and NTR, transcended the boundaries and made them global icons. As they attained immense fan support all over the country after RRR, filmmakers are eager to make big budget pan-India movies with both these actors. Interestingly, both Charan and NTR are making aggressive strides to win the post-RRR battle.
While NTR teamed up with Telugu director Koratala Siva for a two-part action spectacle Devara, Ram Charan joined hands with renowned filmmaker Shankar Shanmugam for a political thriller Game Changer. Both these much-anticipated films will release in the second half of this year.
After wrapping up these films, NTR has agreed to work on Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 and Ram Charan will move on to his sports drama with Telugu director Buchi Babu. Besides these projects, NTR already signed up KGF and Salaar fame director Prashanth Neel for another two-part epic actioner and Charan has just announced his next film with Pushpa director Sukumar.
The strong line-up of films chosen by NTR and Ram Charan after RRR hints that they are handpicking scripts and selecting directors to diversify their filmography and also ensure that their brand image expands further.
Both actors are smartly trying to be a notch higher than the other in terms of their selection of scripts and directors. Though they displayed great camaraderie on and off the screen for RRR, it is going to be an intense battle now as both actors will try to gain the upper hand at the box office in the coming years.
It would be interesting to see who will win the post-RRR battle, NTR or Charan ? We have to wait and find out in the coming days.
